See at a glance which app needs you. Every icon on the home menu gets a red badge with the number of unread messages (Discuss) or activities due (every other app), per user, live.

The problem
The apps grid looks the same whether your inbox is empty or ten activities are overdue. Users open each app to find out, or miss things.
The solution
A red counter on each app icon, computed from the same activity and message store Odoo uses for the systray. It updates as soon as something changes, with no extra requests.

Install in one step
- Apps → search App Menu Badges → Install.
- Open the home menu: apps with pending activities or unread messages show a red badge.
- Handle the items; the badge disappears on its own.

Which apps get a badge?
Discuss (unread messages and failed notifications) and any app that owns a model with activities: Contacts, Sales, Invoicing, CRM, Project, Employees, Expenses, Helpdesk...
Does it slow down the home menu?
No. It reads the counters Odoo already fetches for the systray and only touches the DOM of the home menu.
